CBSE Date Sheet 2027 Not Out Yet: Expected Dates and JEE Clash Check

Key takeaways

  • As of 29 September 2026, CBSE has not released the Class 10 or Class 12 date sheet for 2027 on cbse.gov.in; news reports now expect it in October-November 2026 (reported, not official).
  • Last year CBSE issued a tentative date sheet on 24 September 2025 and the final one on 30 October 2025; exams ran from 17 February to 10 April 2026 for Class 12.
  • CBSE's LOC circular for 2026-27 says the first Class 10 board exam will be held in February-March 2027; exact dates are awaited.
  • JEE Main 2027 Session 1 is on 22-30 January 2027 (tentative), so on last year's pattern it should not clash with board theory papers, though school practicals may fall in the same weeks.
  • CBSE officially released sample question papers and marking schemes for 2026-27 through a notification dated 21 September 2026, with no change in paper design.

The CBSE date sheet 2027 has not been released yet. As of 29 September 2026, cbse.gov.in has no Class 10 or Class 12 exam schedule for 2027, and the only 2027 exam notice so far is about submitting the List of Candidates (LOC).

Status as of 29 September 2026: not released. Last year the tentative sheet came on 24 September, but this year news reports now expect the date sheet in October-November 2026. That is a reported expectation, not a CBSE announcement. Sample papers, on the other hand, are officially out: see our CBSE sample paper 2027 guide.

Below you will find last year's actual dates, the expected 2027 window, a clash check with JEE Main 2027 Session 1, the status of sample papers, and a calm plan to handle boards and JEE together.

Is the CBSE date sheet 2027 out?

No. On 29 September 2026, the "Latest @ CBSE" list on cbse.gov.in shows no 2027 date sheet. The newest exam notice is the LOC circular for Class 10 and Class 12 Main Examinations 2026-27, posted on 21 September 2026; later items (22 and 23 September) are about scholarships and demographic corrections. When the date sheet comes, it will appear as a PDF in that same list.

The LOC circular gives one useful hint. It says the first Class 10 board exam, which is mandatory for all students, will be held during February-March. It also gives schools a data correction window from 2 to 4 November 2026 to fix names, dates of birth and subjects. Please check your details with your school before that window closes.

If you see a "CBSE date sheet 2027 PDF" on WhatsApp, Telegram or YouTube before it is on cbse.gov.in, treat it as fake. Do not change your revision plan because of an unofficial schedule.

When did CBSE release the date sheet last year?

For the 2026 exams, CBSE released a tentative date sheet on 24 September 2025 and the final date sheet on 30 October 2025. Exams for both classes started on 17 February 2026. Class 10 ended on 11 March and Class 12 on 10 April 2026, after one paper day was moved.

Event2026 cycle (actual)2027 cycle
Tentative date sheet24 September 2025Not released as of 29 Sep 2026
Final date sheet30 October 2025Expected October-November 2026 (reported)
Theory exams begin17 February 2026Expected mid-February 2027
Class 12 Physics / Chemistry / Maths20 Feb / 28 Feb / 9 Mar 2026Not announced
Class 10 first exam ends11 March 2026Expected in March 2027
Class 12 exams end10 April 2026Expected by early April 2027
Class 10 second examFrom 15 May 2026 (tentative schedule)Expected in May 2027

One change came late last year. A circular dated 29 December 2025 moved the papers of 3 March 2026 to 11 March for Class 10 and to 10 April for Class 12, citing administrative reasons. So even after a final date sheet, keep an eye on official circulars.

When will CBSE board exams 2027 start?

CBSE has not announced a start date. Based on the 2026 pattern and the LOC circular's February-March mention, theory exams are expected to begin around mid-February 2027, with Class 12 running into late March or early April. These are expected dates only, not official ones.

Practical exams usually come first. In 2026, news reports said practicals for most schools ran from 1 January to 14 February 2026, while winter-bound schools held them from 6 November to 6 December 2025. The 2027 practical schedule has not been announced.

Will CBSE 2027 board exams clash with JEE Main Session 1?

Probably not for theory papers. NTA's calendar puts JEE Main 2027 Session 1 on 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 and 30 January 2027, with 31 January as a buffer day. CBSE theory exams began on 17 February in 2026, about 17 days after that window. The real overlap risk is Class 12 practicals, which many schools hold in January.

Three things decide whether you face a clash in 2027:

  • Theory start date: if CBSE again starts around mid-February, there is a clear gap. A start before 1 February would be a first in recent years, so check the tentative sheet the day it comes out.
  • Practical dates: schools set these inside a CBSE window. In 2026 it was 1 January to 14 February for most schools, which fully covers the JEE Session 1 dates.
  • Your own JEE date: you get one shift out of the six days. NTA issues an advance exam city intimation slip before the admit card, so you will know your date in January.
Exam2027 dateStatusOverlap risk
JEE Main Session 122-24 and 28-30 Jan 2027 (31 Jan buffer)Tentative, NTA calendar-
CBSE practicals (Class 12)Not announced (Jan-Feb in 2026)ExpectedPossible, talk to your school

JEE Main Session 2Not announced (2-9 April in 2026)Expected April 2027Low for PCM; last few Class 12 papers may run close

NTA's 2026 bulletin said the January and April sessions were scheduled so that JEE Main "does not interfere" with board exams. In 2026, the Class 12 PCM papers were over by 9 March, well before Session 2 began on 2 April.

If your school fixes a practical on your JEE date, do not panic. Show your admit card to your principal as soon as you get your exam date. Schools normally have a window of several weeks for practicals and can usually give another slot. For the full list of 2027 entrance dates, see our 2027 exam dates hub for JEE, IIT and related exams, and the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 announcement.

Are CBSE sample papers 2027 released?

Yes. CBSE has uploaded sample question papers and marking schemes for the 2026-27 session on cbseacademic.nic.in. These are meant for the 2027 board exams. Class 12 papers for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are available, along with most other subjects. CBSE's official notification announcing them is dated 21 September 2026, and it says there is no change in the question paper design or assessment pattern for 2026-27. Our CBSE sample paper 2027 guide gives the PCM paper pattern and a calm way to use them with JEE preparation.

To find them, open cbseacademic.nic.in, go to Sample Question Papers, and choose "Class XII 2026-27" or "Class X 2026-27". Download both the paper and its marking scheme. Some subject links were not working when we checked, so try again later if one fails.

Do not skip the marking scheme. It shows how step marks are given, which is where many JEE students lose marks. They solve correctly but write too briefly for a board answer.

How do you balance CBSE boards and JEE Main 2027?

Treat JEE and boards as one PCM syllabus with two answer styles. Focus mainly on JEE from October to January, write one board-style paper every week, and shift mostly to board revision after Session 1 ends. Board marks matter too, because NIT and IIT admission needs 75% in Class 12.

  1. October to December: follow a JEE-focused plan such as our 100-day study plan for JEE Main 2027. Keep one weekend slot for a CBSE sample paper in one subject.
  2. Know the syllabus gaps: some board topics are not in JEE Main, and some JEE topics go deeper than boards. Our JEE Main 2027 syllabus guide lists the official units and the topics removed in 2024.
  3. January: finish practical files and viva preparation early, so practical dates do not eat into your final JEE revision.
  4. After 30 January: spend most of your time on board answer writing, NCERT, sample papers and your English and fifth-subject papers.
  5. March and April: after boards, revise for Session 2 if you want to improve your score. Only your better score counts.

The 75% rule is the reason boards cannot be ignored. To get an NIT, IIIT, GFTI or IIT seat, you need at least 75% aggregate in Class 12 (65% for SC, ST and PwD), or a place in your board's top 20 percentile. Our guide to JEE Main eligibility and the 75% criteria explains this in detail.

Feeling stressed about two big exams in two months is normal. Keep a fixed sleep time, take one short break every day, and talk to a parent, teacher or school counsellor if worry starts affecting your sleep or appetite.

What should you do while waiting for the CBSE date sheet 2027?

You do not need the exact dates to start. Check your LOC details, download the 2026-27 sample papers, and keep your JEE plan running. When the CBSE date sheet 2027 is released, compare it with your JEE dates and adjust only the last few weeks of your plan.

  • Check your name, date of birth and subjects with your school before the 2 to 4 November 2026 correction window ends.
  • Download the 2026-27 sample papers and marking schemes for Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English from cbseacademic.nic.in.
  • Keep checking cbse.gov.in, not social media, for the date sheet.
  • Note JEE Main 2027 Session 1 (22-30 January) and tell your school early if a practical clashes.
  • Keep your Class 12 target above 75% so your JEE rank can actually be used at JoSAA.
  • Plan your college options by rank band with our guide to colleges for a low JEE Main rank.

Frequently asked questions

Is the CBSE date sheet 2027 released?

No. As of 29 September 2026, there is no Class 10 or Class 12 date sheet for 2027 on cbse.gov.in. The latest exam notice is the List of Candidates circular for 2026-27. Last year CBSE issued a tentative date sheet on 24 September 2025; news reports now expect the 2027 one in October-November 2026. Only trust the PDF on the official website.

When will CBSE board exams 2027 start?

CBSE has not announced the start date. Its LOC circular says the first Class 10 board exam will be held during February-March 2027. In 2026, both Class 10 and Class 12 exams started on 17 February, so a mid-February start is expected for 2027. Treat this as an estimate until the date sheet is released.

Will CBSE 2027 board exams clash with JEE Main Session 1?

A clash with theory papers is unlikely. JEE Main 2027 Session 1 is on 22-30 January 2027 (31 January buffer), while CBSE theory exams started on 17 February in 2026, leaving a gap of over two weeks. Class 12 practicals, held in January and February last year, can overlap, so show your JEE city slip or admit card to your school early.

Are CBSE sample papers 2027 released?

Yes. CBSE has uploaded sample question papers and marking schemes for the 2026-27 session, which are meant for the 2027 board exams, on cbseacademic.nic.in. Class 12 papers for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are available along with most other subjects. Download them only from the official site.

Is there a leaked CBSE date sheet 2027 PDF?

Any 2027 date sheet shared on WhatsApp, Telegram or YouTube before CBSE publishes it on cbse.gov.in should be treated as fake. CBSE posts date sheets as circulars on its official website, and news outlets report them the same day. Do not change your study plan based on an unofficial PDF.

How do I prepare for CBSE boards and JEE Main together?

Use the common PCM syllabus as your base. Study for JEE Main from October to January while writing board-style answers once a week. After Session 1 ends on 30 January 2027, shift mostly to board revision and sample papers. Remember that NIT and IIT admission needs 75% in Class 12, or 65% for SC, ST and PwD.
