CUET UG 2027 Exam Date, Registration & B.Tech via CUET (+ CUET PG)

The CUET UG 2027 exam date is not official yet, but based on the last two cycles it is expected from mid-May to early June 2027, with registration likely opening in early January 2027. For postgraduate aspirants, NTA's tentative calendar already lists CUET PG 2027 in March 2027.

When is the CUET UG 2027 exam date?

NTA has not announced the CUET UG 2027 exam date. CUET UG 2025 ran from 13 May to 4 June and CUET UG 2026 from 11 May to 7 June, so the 2027 exam is expected between mid-May and early June 2027. The official date will come with the CUET UG 2027 information bulletin.

NTA released a tentative exam calendar on 16 September 2026, but it covers only exams up to March 2027 (such as JEE Main session 1 and CUET PG). CUET UG 2027 was not part of it. Expect a separate announcement closer to the registration window.

In 2026, NTA also held exams on 31 May and 6-7 June for candidates affected on 28 and 30 May. Such re-tests can push the result date, so keep your summer plans flexible.

What happened in CUET UG 2026? Exam dates and result recap

CUET UG 2026 was held from 11 May to 7 June 2026 in computer-based mode, and NTA declared the CUET result 2026 on 23 June 2026. About 15.68 lakh candidates registered and about 11.64 lakh appeared, with registrations reported to be over 15% higher than in 2025.

The 2026 result came about 11 days earlier than in 2025. That helped universities like DU start their admission process sooner. If this trend holds, the CUET UG 2027 result could come in late June 2027.

How do you check the CUET result?

You check the CUET UG result on cuet.nta.nic.in by logging in with your application number and password (or date of birth, as NTA specifies). The scorecard shows your normalised score and percentile for each subject. Download it and keep a PDF and printout.

1. Visit cuet.nta.nic.in on result day.
2. Click the CUET UG result or scorecard link.
3. Log in with your application number and password or date of birth.
4. Check subject codes, marks and your personal details.
5. Download the scorecard for university applications.

NTA only declares scores. There is no single CUET merit list or common counselling. Each university, such as DU through its CSAS portal, prepares its own merit list from your CUET scores.

How to register for CUET UG 2027?

CUET UG 2027 registration is expected on cuet.nta.nic.in in January 2027. You will create an account, fill in personal and academic details, choose subjects and exam cities, upload a photo and signature, and pay the fee online. Keep your Aadhaar-linked details consistent with your Class 10 and 12 records.

• Register with a mobile number and email you will keep using for the next year.
• Choose subjects based on the programmes you want, not just what feels easy.
• Select exam cities carefully; you usually cannot change them later without a correction window.
• Pay the fee and download the confirmation page.
• Use the correction window, if NTA offers one, to fix any mistakes.

CUET UG application fee

For CUET UG 2026, the fee depended on your category and number of subjects. The 2027 fee will be confirmed by NTA and may change.

What is the CUET UG exam pattern?

In 2026, candidates could choose up to five subjects, including languages, domain subjects and the General Test. Each test has 50 compulsory questions to be solved in 60 minutes, as a computer-based test. The pattern for 2027 will be confirmed in the information bulletin.

About 23 domain subjects and 13 languages were offered in 2026, as reported. For science and B.Tech-type programmes, the usual combination is English (language), Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Some programmes also accept the General Test.

CUET is a speed test. Since there is negative marking, practise with NTA-style mocks and avoid wild guessing. Your Class 12 NCERT syllabus is the main base.

Can you get B.Tech admission through CUET?

Yes, but only for a small number of programmes. Most B.Tech seats in India, including IITs, NITs, IIITs and DU's Faculty of Technology, use JEE scores. CUET-based B.Tech options exist at a few central and state universities, such as DU's Cluster Innovation Centre B.Tech (IT and Mathematical Innovations).

B.Tech at Delhi University: JEE Main or CUET?

This confuses many students. DU runs two different kinds of B.Tech programmes:

For the Faculty of Technology, the reported eligibility is 60% in PCM in Class 12 (55% for OBC-NCL, 50% for SC, ST and PwBD). Check DU's official admission bulletin for 2027, as the route and seat numbers can change each year.

Other universities with B.Tech via CUET

Some central universities, such as the Central University of Jammu, offer B.Tech programmes with CUET UG as an admission route, as reported for 2026. A number of state, deemed and private universities also accept CUET scores for B.Tech or B.Sc (engineering-related) programmes.

• Check the university's 2027 bulletin for the exact CUET subject combination (usually Mathematics plus Physics and/or Chemistry, and a language).
• Check whether the programme also accepts JEE Main, and which gets priority.
• Look at placement data and faculty strength; a new B.Tech programme may not yet have a track record.

Should a PCM student choose CUET or JEE Main?

If you want an engineering degree, JEE Main should be your main exam and CUET UG a secondary one. JEE Main opens IITs (via JEE Advanced), NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, most state counselling and many private colleges. CUET UG opens central university B.Sc, a few B.Tech programmes and many non-engineering courses.

Many PCM students write both. It costs little extra, and CUET gives you a safety net in pure sciences at well-known central universities if engineering does not work out. A B.Sc in Mathematics, Physics or Computer Science at a good university can later lead to M.Sc, MCA or GATE routes, and to IIT M.Sc seats through the exam covered in our IIT JAM 2027 exam date guide.

The key is time management. JEE Main session 2 and JEE Advanced come before CUET UG, so your JEE preparation naturally covers much of the CUET Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics domain papers. In the two weeks after JEE Advanced, switch to NTA-style CUET mocks, practise the English section, and revise NCERT line by line.

One more tip: when you pick CUET subjects, keep your options open. Choosing English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry lets you apply for most science and B.Tech-type programmes. Adding the General Test can help for some programmes, but check each university's bulletin first, because the required combination differs from one programme to another.

When is the CUET PG 2027 exam date?

NTA's tentative calendar, issued on 16 September 2026, lists CUET PG 2027 on 1-5 March, 8 March, 12-20 March and 24-25 March 2027, with 30-31 March as buffer days. Registration dates will come in the CUET PG 2027 notification. These dates are tentative and may change.

The CUET UG 2027 exam date is expected in mid-May to early June 2027, and CUET PG 2027 in March 2027. Start preparing now so the registration and exam windows do not catch you off guard.

• List the universities and programmes you want, and note the CUET subjects each requires.
• Watch cuet.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in from December 2026 for the CUET UG 2027 notice.
• Keep Class 10 and 12 documents, category certificate, photo and signature scans ready.
• If you want B.Tech, prioritise JEE Main 2027 and treat CUET as an extra route.
• Practise NTA-style mocks for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English.
• After the result, register separately on each university's admission portal, such as DU CSAS.
